Daniel Robey

Director

Mr. Robey is in his fourth year as Theatre Director at Worthington Kilbourne. A Capital University honors graduate in English Education with a focus on creative writing and theatre, he has previously directed at Hilliard Bradley High School, Capital University, and Dublin Grizzell Middle School. He credits his former director, friends, family, and his cast, crew, and pit for making his dream job a reality.

Scott Jones

Technical Director

Mr. Jones joined Worthington Kilbourne in January 2021, stepping in just weeks before The Wizard of Oz. With 24 years of experience as an assistant marching band director, show choir and musical choreographer, and theater technical director, he has worked in nearly every aspect of theater nationwide. He also holds a degree in architecture and is a licensed home inspector in Ohio. He thanks his family and friends for their support, especially during countless rehearsals.

Alyson Bates

Vocal Director

Mrs. Alyson Bates is the Vocal Director for WKHS Theatre and Founding Artistic Director of Capriccio Youth Choir, inspiring young singers and bringing music to life on stage. She holds a master’s in Education Administration from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Music Education from Otterbein University. With extensive experience teaching and leading youth choirs, she also mentors future music educators, serves as a clinician, and actively contributes to Ohio’s music community.

Kelly Black

Choreographer

Kelly Black, a central Ohio native, has danced professionally in musical theatre for 15 years. A graduate of Otterbein University with a BA in art education and a dance minor, she performed worldwide—including national tours of Irving Berlin's White Christmas and the Asia tour of 42nd Street—before returning to Ohio. She teaches at Otterbein University and BalletMet, has choreographed at Denison University, and is excited to work with the students at Worthington Kilbourne High School.

MATT CHIDSEY

Pitt Orchestra Director

Since fall 2021, Mr. Chidsey has taught 6–12th grade string orchestra in the Worthington City School District. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University and is pursuing a Master’s at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. An active musical theatre pianist and conductor, he has performed in numerous productions and also enjoys accompanying choir concerts, adjudicated events, and performing solo and chamber music.
